Mike is a STEM ambassador for the North West, encouraging secondary children to take an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

“Mike and his team were always at hand throughout the build process and quick to find solutions to and problems that arose.

The final design is stunning, as well as addressing all of our needs for accessibility. The new boathouse has already made a massive difference to the young people using the Centre and will continue to do so for generations to come.”

Since formation of the practice, we have endeavoured to support opportunities for local people. We have also supported charities and other good causes by working without charge.

We have had over 25 work placement pupils from local schools.

We have sponsored Design and Technology Students at Bellerive School, a mixture of some financial support for materials, but more importantly by bringing the students into our office, and encouraging them to present their ideas.

We offer our support to local secondary schools, providing students with an opportunity to explore different areas of activities one might expect in an architect’s office.

We have been involved in ‘Women into Industry,’ set up to encourage female interest into traditionally male orientated working roles.

We have participated in the Graduate Placement scheme, and now have senior staff who joined us on this programme.

We have worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce to support local Graduate Placement and Apprentice Schemes. Mike has met with Councillors on a number of occasions to explore ideas on improving opportunities for young adults locally.

We also support students who wish to complete Architecture Internships. During this placement we ensure they gain invaluable skills that they can carry with them through the remainder of their university life, and also throughout their architecture career. . We continue to support students throughout the remainder of their studies and employment progression.
