Located on a site formerly occupied by a church this project comprises nine houses for rent in a single terraced block. In an established residential area the site benefited from an existing planning approval for a development of apartments.

Although surrounded by two storey bye-law terraced and post-war semi-detached dwellings the site sits between a recently built three-storey block of sheltered accommodation and a two and a half storey double fronted detached Victorian dwelling.

Arranged over four floors with rooms in the roof and on a narrow footprint; each dwelling has five bedrooms, a front door, cycle storage, off road in-curtilage parking and an open plan living room and kitchen facing onto the rear garden.

A carefully selected palette of materials and detail design combines with aspects of the approved scheme and an appropriate scale and massing to ensure the development not only responds to its surroundings but also contributes to the street scene in which it sits.

Close and regular collaboration on site ensured an accelerated build programme and a development that evolved as it progressed and a project that was delivered on time and to cost.
