Located upon the South Promenade in the quiet Lancashire town of Lytham St. Anne's, this project for the YMCA on behalf of Fylde Borough Council, involved the refurbishment and extension of a community swimming pool facility.

The pool had endured a turbulent history being closed in 2008 and remained so until its reopening by the YMCA in 2010. This was until 2013 when Sport England funding was secured in order to stabilise the future of the community facility and ensure the sporting development of generations to come.

Our long established position within the Sport England framework enabled us to confidently and efficiently implement an innovative and modern architectural solution warranted of any leading state-of-the-art sporting facility.

Constant liaising between the design team was the key to this projects success. Bi-weekly Design Team Meetings along with weekly site reports ensured the project finished on time and under budget.

Our team’s exceptional attention to detail coupled with our continued collaboration with the builders, clients and end users ensured that the aim of the brief was fulfilled. A community sports institution has been revitalised providing a solid base for the development of the next generations Mark Foster or Rebecca Adlington.
