“We at Northern Rail Estates Department have used Michael Cunningham Architects for numerous projects over the past few years. From small design commissions to large ones we have received the same quality service. The practice has been able to steer us through some difficult heritage issues and has liaised on our behalf with Heritage departments and the Rail Heritage Trust. Indeed the work carried out at Glossop, designed by MCA was highly commended at the National Rail heritage Awards. In essence MCA are attentive, courteous and talented and I would have no hesitation in using their services again.”

Over the last four years, we have designed works at over 60 railway stations, with a total contract value in excess of £6 million. This work has ranged from minor alterations in station car parks, through to significant construction and refurbishment works. We have also carried out feasibility and design works for National Express to the value of £2 million. We have provided planning services for EM Diesels in Doncaster for their new locomotive repair facility, construction value £5.5 million.

Our team are extremely experienced, and have managed architectural services on these projects, including several Listed building consents at Manchester Victoria and Manchester Oxford Road Stations, and carried out many small scale interventions at stations across the North West, and as far as Yorkshire.
